Laser Cutting Layered Acrylic

With the recent news of the lion Celia being trophy hunted in an South African wildlife reserve, I expressed a way of sympathy towards the topic. Personally, I am an huge animal lover who frequently campaigns for their rights. Therefore, this self inflicted project was close to my heart.

Using 3 different coloured pieces of A3 acrylic sheets, I created a layered design which creates depth and creates a scene. Using a range of softwares, such as Indesign, Illustrator, Corel Draw and trotec, I created 3 seperate documents for each layer. Using a laser cutter, I cut out all my designs and glued them together in chronological order so the scene was created. The first layer (background) was a flat image, but I engraved onto it instead so I could develop my laser cutting skills and also create a guideline for the second layer pieces to be aligned too when gluing them down.
